Roller Conveyor Systems / Skatewheel Conveyors

Roller conveyor systems consist of a series of parallel rollers fastened to a metal frame supported at intervals. Roller conveyors are commonly used in warehouses for transporting packages, boxes, or other objects over short distances. Roller conveyors can work by gravity, where the conveyor may be inclined slightly so that gravity is literally used to propel the objects, or may be power driven. Roller conveyors are manufactured in a variety of sizes, with the industry standard sizes being 12”, 18”, 24”, 36.”

A skatewheel conveyor is a lighter weight and more economical alternative to a roller conveyor. In skatewheel conveyors, the rollers are replaced with a series of wheels made from nylon, steel or aluminum. Since they are lighter in weight, they can often be easily moved or reconfigured. Both roller and skatewheel conveyors could be used post packaging in a food plant or in shipping and receiving.
