Pneumatic Conveyor System / Vacuum Conveying Systems

Pneumatic conveying systems are used in the food industry to transport raw ingredients in a clean and contained manner. Pneumatic conveyors use an airstream to push or pull (vacuum conveying systems) material through a fully enclosed tube or pipe, which serves as the conveying line. A vacuum conveying system applies a vacuum at the end to pull or suck the material through the conveying line. A pressure conveying system introduces compressed air at the inlet to push the material through the conveying line. Vacuum conveyors are ideal for transporting free flowing non-abrasive materials short distances—about 200 ft. or less. Pressure conveying systems are used for transporting heavier materials over a longer distance, as far as 1500-1600 ft.
